Mikael has been living in Røros for many years, and is executive director of Røros Hotell, Vertshuset Røros, Kaffestuggu and Erzscheidergården. He has many years experience in both the hotel and restaurant business, and has received awards including «Young Hotelier» in Norway, «The farmers association chefs award», central Norway’s food prize and the «Happy Egg». He also won «Taste of Norway» in 2009 and is one of the most popular spokesmen for Norwegian food and cuisine.
